Man, this is what happens when you host your blog on your own server :S

Someone hacked into my index.php and inserted some stupid <script> tag thingy. It was recognized as Malware. For you Firefox users, Google Advisory gave a strong warning against coming here, the rest had their malware detection alarm come up.

Just wanna let you know how I solved it, in case you might run into the same problem in the future:

• I made sure I was registered with Google Webmaster tools.
• I then checked all my files for any stupid <script> tags that contain gibberish.
• I confirmed that all my files’ permissions were set to 644.
• I logged in to Google Webmaster tools and asked them to review the site again.
• I changed all my passwords in my server cpanel.
• I emailed my server provider with the details in hopes for them to strengthen the security.

So sorry for the inconvenience, but ahbonk.net is genki again!

If the DNS was propagated properly, you should be seeing this site now! It’s now on Wordpress and is self-hosted on http://ahbonknet.easyonlygames.com/. Sidebar and, uh, bottom bar widgets are still under construction, and I still wanna add more unique designs to the blog. Took quite a while to tweak the PHP and CSS for features up-till-now. But still, make yourselves at home!

I had the urge to revamp the blog since ages ago. I felt that the previous blog had too many design distractions that prevented you from seeing photos and reading text properly. So I moved to a whiter background and let the photos do all the big talk!

Here’s a list of features I implemented/will implement for this site:

• Post header and metadata are now obvious. Now you know how many comments are left for the post, unlike the previous one!
• You had already gone through this one, the MORE >> button. I wanna free the front page from having those looooooonngg photo posts.
• The top banner picture is randomly selected from 100+ photos for every refresh. Curious? Then the Refresh button is your new friend.
• Categories will be fixed to just under ten items for easy sorting, and they will be shown clearly at the side/bottom bar.
• I’m planning to do away with the chatbox, so if you wanna leave a message, you gotta go to the relevant post’s comment page. This is to ensure that comments are tied nicely to the post, so they stay there forever. Also, your first comment will have to be approved, but not subsequent comments.

Ja, mata ashita!

Many things happened recently, mostly life-altering changes. My family and friends have made me realize that I have changed in 2006. I was no longer the happy-go-lucky bugger back in the ol’ days, just this sad little guy depressed about every little bad thing that happened in his life.

You can even see that change happening in the previous Level UP! blog. Complaining about being too nice, about not being persuasive, about not being stylo, yadda yadda yadda.

Well that was last year. Now it’s 2007! It’s time for a change! A BIG change!

Last year, I had so many new year resolutions, up to the point that I was pressured to fulfill them. This year, I have only one new year resolution:

“To be at peace with myself.”

Yup, you heard me. No more “create a game every month” or “become better in Japanese” sort of crap. This year, I am determined to be happy and fulfilled at heart. I know that if I can’t even do this much, then I should say goodbye to all my career and relationship goals.

Sanyen reminded me of my old xanga blog (http://www.xanga.com/ahbonk). Remember that blog? It used to be so simple: just take stupid pictures, post them up and laugh.

That’s why I have decided to create a new blog. No more gimmicks, no more fancy tricks, no more level ups… just simply, ahbonk.net. This is a blog about ahbonk. About me. About the new me. About how I will change back to my old cheerful self again. About keeping life simple.

Instead of posting deep thoughts and rant all year long, I will strive to talk about the silliest things. Post the silliest pictures. Talk about anime, games, the things I love in life.
